Bitumen AC 10 is a Viscosity Grade Bitumen. It is a Most AC binders are used in hot applied surface treatments, but other uses include pre-coating, tack coat, and recycling.

The AC nomenclature uses numbers to indicate the stiffness or viscosity of the asphalt. As the number get higher, the binder gets stiffer/harder. Designations are added for polymer additives (SBR for styrene-butadiene-rubber, P for styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer, and TR for tire rubber). Application temperatures of asphalt cements, especially the more viscous grades, are from 300°F to 400°F.

Application of Bitumen Viscosity grade AC10

Viscosity grade bitumen asphalt can be applied on original asphalt which is AC (asphalt cement) grades or aged residue AR(aged residue) grades. The main common usage of this product is in road making at temperate regions.

AC grades indicated viscosity at 60 °C actually the number after AC showed 0.01 absolute viscosity in poises at 60 °C. For instance, AC-5 means the bituminous asphalt cement has viscosity of 500 poises at 60°C. The number after AR indicated viscosity in poises at 60 °C. Common viscosity grades asphalt cement are AC-2.5, AC-5,AC-10,AC-20, AC-30,AC-40. AC 10 is a designed bituminous asphalt which is mostly used in hot climate because the viscosity is high.
